Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Z Fold 7 officially announced with a Larger display and a thinner design. This is arguably the biggest update to the Z Fold series in years, with larger screens, a thinner chassis and a 200MP main camera.

At 215 grams, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and 24 grams lighter than the Z Fold last year. The new armour, FlexHinge and Aromor Aluminium frame housing the Z Fold 7 slim down. It measures 8.9mm thick when folded and a mere 4.2mm thick when unfolded.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is more than just a slim and light foldable; it also has the largest displays in the series. The main screen now measures 8.0 inches while the cover display comes in at 6.5 inches. It features a wide 21:9 aspect ratio, making the Galaxy Z Fold 7 more ergonomic for typing and general usage.

Both panels are still of the Dynamic AMOLED 2x variety with a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate, and they get plenty bright at up to 2600 nits. The cover screen features Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection and a 10MP selfie camera.

Samsung used a new generation of its Ultra-Thin Glass on the main 8,0 display, which is 50% thicker than before. Samsung also removed the under-display camera on the main screen and opted for a more traditional 10MP punch-hole solution.

Samsung added a 200MP sensor for the main camera – the same one it uses on the S25 Ultra. This is a 24mm equivalent 1/1.3 sensor with f/1.7 aperture and OIS. It is joined by a 10MP 3x telephoto lens and a new 12MP ultrawide module.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 comes with Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is configurable with 12/16GB RAM and 256/512GB or 1TB storage. Fold 7 does get some gains on the connectivity front with support for the newer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.4 standards. The software side is covered by One UI 8 based on Android 16 with the full Galaxy AI suite. Samsung is promising 7 Android OS updates and 7 years of security patches. Fold 7 users are also getting 6 months of Google’s AI Pro tier for free.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 gets a 440mAh battery with the same old 25W wired, 15W wireless and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. Fold 7 will be available in Blue, Silver, and Jet Black. Fold 7 is also available in Mint colour, which is available only on Samsung.com.

The baseline 12/256GB model starts at $2000, while the top-of-the-line 16GB RAM and  1TB storage tri will sell for $2420.
